I am an economist and econometrician working at Biomedical Data Sciences Department at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and the Radboud Institute for Culture & History (RICH) in Nijmegen. I am part of the project "Lifting the burden of disease. The modernisation of health in the Netherlands: Amsterdam 1854-1940". I apply data visualization and statistical methods to study the dynamics of mortality and its potential determinants such as weather and public sanitation using historical data from various sources.
I obtained my PhD at Utrecht University in 2015. Previously I worked as a lecturer in the Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) College at the University of Amsterdam and as health economist at the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD).
I have research experience in development economics, global health and the quantitative analysis of socio-economic inequalities.
